4. For question #2, what did you do differently from the original post? Please outline, explain and justify what you changed & why. Essentially, what did you learn from this new topic and what did you change and why. (8 Marks)
I made five changes: a Clearer Opening, better readability, an F-pattern Layout, a Stronger CTA, and visual appeal.
For a more precise opening, the old version started with a question: “Owning a pet is excellent, but let’s be honest, it’s much work, too’. The new version gets straight to the point: “Happy Tails Pet Experts, we know how much your pet means to you.”. This is better because it's more direct and engaging, with no unnecessary words. For better readability, the old version had many bullet points but lots of small details in complete sentences; the new version has headings, bolded text, emojis, and bullet points; this is better because it's easier to scan and read quickly.
The F-Pattern layout: The old version lists the benefits and services in a block, whereas in the new version, the key details appear where readers would normally look first (F-Pattern).
Stronger CTA: The old version was just a “call to action here.” I rephrased it to “book your pet's appointment today.” This approach makes it more direct and encourages action. Last was Visual Appeal. I had no mention of any kind of visual, as the new version has a spot for a happy pet. This makes it better because it builds trust and is also more engaging.
What I've learned from the F-Pattern is that it helps put the most important details exactly where users expect them. Plain English writing isn’t just about shorter sentences; it's about removing words that you don’t need without losing their meaning. Additionally, readability tricks, like bold text, bullet points, and emojis, make a big difference in how engaging a page feels.
